Three more players dropped form Irish Rugby World Cup Squad

Joe Schmidt has made the possible starting Irish rugby team against Scotland a tiny bit clearer with another three players dropped.

There are now 40 players left in the squad with the news that Connacht’s Finlay Bealham, Ulster’s John Cooney and Munster’s Mike Haley have been dropped from the World Cup squad.

The rest of the Ireland squad went to Dublin Airport this afternoon for a warm-weather training camp in Portugal.

Joey Carbery will rehab his ankle injury with the national squad and is expected to be available for selection in 4-6 weeks.

Devin Toner’s ankle knock has not presented any further issues while Rob Herring who retired from the game early due to a back spasm has also fully recovered.

Ireland’s next fixture is against England in Twickenham on Saturday 24th August. Check out the Irish Rugby website and social media channels for interviews, videos and team news from the Portugal camp. The Ireland team to play England will be announced on Thursday 22nd August.
